📣 Welcome to the second edition of our news-recap edition of Liverpool & Beyond, in cahoots with our friends at Liverpool Noise. Today, we’ve got a bucket list of 22 things all locals should try in Liverpool, a new all-day festival happening this Saturday across town, the best games arcades, the return of Homotopia, and more! Enjoy.
TOP STORY
Liverpool never really lets you sit still. One minute you’re sipping coffee by the docks, the next you’re ax-throwing, kayaking, or lost in some underground bar you didn’t mean to find. If you’re bored here, you’re doing it wrong. Here are 22 bucket list items for anyone who lives in Liverpool…
MUSIC
Liverpool’s newest festival isn’t about big headliners or polished sets. Into the Pit is for the locals…the bands cutting their teeth in tiny venues and the fans who actually show up. On October 11, 2025 (this Saturday), five city-centre stages will host more than 20 Merseyside acts for a full day of raw, homegrown music.
THINGS TO DO
Liverpool’s packed with spots where you can mash buttons, race virtual cars, or throw actual axes. Whether you’re chasing a high score or a good time, the city’s arcades mix old-school nostalgia. Think pinball and Pac-Man, with next-level stuff like VR arenas and e-karting tracks. It’s part retro hangout, part modern playground, and entirely worth a night out.
FESTIVALS
Homotopia turns 21 this year, and it’s showing no signs of slowing down. From November 1–30, Liverpool’s long-running LGBTQIA+ arts festival takes over the city with its 2025 theme: Uprising.
Expect performances, film screenings, exhibitions, talks, workshops, and parties across venues like the Unity Theatre, Everyman, Playhouse, FACT, and St George’s Hall. More than 70% of events are free. Here’s everything you need to know…
FAMILY FUN
The Big Bakes, known for its hands-on baking competitions, is bringing its Little Monsters Family Bakes to the city on October 29, 30, and 31. Families can team up for 90 minutes of pure chaos and creativity: mixing, decorating, and racing the clock to impress the judges.
Prepare for googly eyes, colourful icing, and plenty of laughs. Everything’s provided: ingredients, tools, aprons. Just bring your imagination. Tickets start at £39.99 per person.
FOOD & DRINK
Masons on Seel Street is the spot that epitomises Liverpool’s Bottomless Brunch craze, and it just hit a whopping 75,000 bookings!
To celebrate, they’ve dropped a brand-new Saturday Brunch Menu. The vibe? Loud, lively, and unapologetically fun. Expect DJs, live music, sparkler drops, and the kind of energy that turns brunch into a full-on event.
